The Wave of Pro-Russian Sentiments is Growing in Poland: Tusk

The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, has stated on social media that there is a growing wave of pro-Russian sentiments and hostility towards war-torn Ukraine, which is being orchestrated by the Kremlin based on real fears and emotions.

“The role of political leaders is to stop this wave, not to lead it. This is a test of patriotism and maturity for the entire Polish political class,” he noted.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, reported that unknown individuals had cut the cross off the dome of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic church dedicated to the Assumption of the Holy Virgin in Legnica.

According to him, the Ukrainian embassy in Poland has urgently sent a note to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Ukraine's Consulate General in Wrocław has approached local law enforcement agencies requesting all necessary measures to be taken and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Bodnar also expressed concern over the rise of anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland.
