Russian Ambassador Summoned to Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Russian ambassador to Romania, Vladimir Lipayev, has been summoned to the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a complaint was lodged regarding the alleged breach of the country’s airspace by a Russian drone on September 13. This information was confirmed by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the statement, the ministry classified the incident as a "violation of Romanian sovereignty" and called for "measures to be taken" to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Additionally, the Romanian Ministry of Defense had previously issued a statement titled "Assessment of the Incident Caused by the Breach of Airspace by a Russian Drone." The statement claims that the Russian drone was within Romanian airspace for 50 minutes before leaving and heading towards Ukraine.
It is also noted that two F-16 fighter jets from the Romanian Air Force and two Eurofighter Typhoon jets from the German Air Force were deployed to monitor the aerial situation in the area.
