Washington Agreements Have No Relation to Real Peace: Lilit Galstyan
Despite the government’s propaganda machinery portraying them as historic and transformative along with narratives of economic uplift and unblocking, the Washington agreements bear no relation to real peace. This was stated today by Lilit Galstyan, a member of the "Armenia" alliance, during her speech in the National Assembly.
According to her, the provisions of the agreements do not address the real nature and consequences of the conflict, and contain numerous security, political, economic, and legal threats. In particular, they ignore the key underlying issues essential for sustainable peace, including the right of the Artsakh Armenians to collective return guaranteed by international security assurances, the unconditional release of Armenian captives and other detainees, the withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from occupied Armenian territories, and the principles of unblocking regional communications.
