Rubio Meets Families of Hamas Hostages in Gaza

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met on Friday morning with families of hostages taken by the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Axios reports, citing an anonymous State Department official.

According to the publication, the meeting occurred the day before Rubio's visit to Qatar and Israel. No further details about the meeting have been released.

It is worth noting that the Israel Defense Forces have conducted Operation ‘Roof of Fire,’ targeting senior Hamas officials. According to Hamas, six people have died due to Israeli strikes, including the son of the movement's leader, Humam al-Hayyah, and a member of Qatar's internal security forces.
