I Feel Bad About How I’ll Look into My Grandchildren’s Eyes: Gukasian on Son's Arrest

“If you have any questions regarding my son, why are you involving the family? If you have something, come along, I am ready for anything.” This was stated today by the Mayor of Gyumri, Vardan Gukasian, during a conversation with journalists regarding the arrest of his son, Spartak Gukasian.

“Despite the fact that you hit us in 2007, that case has not been solved until now. Four boys are dead, and I and the deputy mayor were injured. Instead of thinking about investigating such matters, you’ve brought troops here from Yerevan. A person takes his child to kindergarten, and on the way, you throw yourselves on him. What are you trying to say with this kind of humiliation, breaking into someone’s home... nothing, they'll break into your home as well,” Gukasian stated.

“Right now, I feel bad about how I’ll look into my grandchildren’s eyes, as if I am the reason,” he added. Gukasian also mentioned that they have not received any notification regarding the arrest, and he emphasized that he will fight legally to the end.
