European Union Allocates Exceptional Macro-Financial Assistance to Ukraine
The European Commission has allocated €1 billion to Ukraine under the G7 lending initiative. "The European Commission has granted its eighth tranche of exceptional macro-financial assistance (MFA) to Ukraine, amounting to €1 billion, further strengthening the EU’s role as Ukraine’s largest donor," states the EU announcement.
The initiative aims to provide Ukraine with a total financial support of around €45 billion, the EU reminded. With the latest payment, the total amount of support provided to Ukraine under the MFA by the European Commission has reached €10 billion since the beginning of 2025.
The total assistance provided to Kyiv by the EU has exceeded €170 billion.
