Putin Has Told Americans That He Will Capture Donbas by Year’s End, Zelensky
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Vladimir Putin has informed Trump’s envoy Witkoff that he plans to completely capture Donbas by the end of the year.
Zelensky reminded that the widespread claim that Russia has already controlled 70% of Donbas for three years is incorrect. He stated that ten years ago, the Kremlin seized Crimea and about one-third of Donbas, and in four years of large-scale warfare, it has managed to occupy only 30% of Donetsk region. Meanwhile, Ukraine controls approximately 32%.
“If Putin says he will take Donbas in 2-4 months, the cost will be years and millions of casualties. If he tries to do it faster, that number would not be one but two or three million people,” Zelensky emphasized.
