I Hope That National Team Coaches Will Not Change Often Anymore: Nair Tiknizyan

In the second round of the 2026 World Cup European qualifiers, the Armenian national team will host the Irish team at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan.

During the pre-match press conference, Armenia's defender Nair Tiknizyan answered reporters' questions.

“I feel well. Playing against Portugal was a significant experience. The result was negative; I think we should forget about that match, but we have analyzed our mistakes. We have also analyzed the game of the Irish national team, but it wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of our opponent right now. I hope that the head coaches of the national team will not change frequently anymore, and we will have at least a year to work together. I want to thank our fans who supported us in the match against Portugal. Ronaldo is a legendary figure in world football, an idol, and if some fans decided to applaud him, I don't find that terrible. I hope we can make our fans happy in tomorrow's game,” said Tiknizyan during the pre-match press conference.

The Armenia – Ireland match in the second round of Group F of the 2026 World Cup European qualifiers will take place on September 9 at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium at 20:00.
