Ukraine Outside NATO is Far More Dangerous for Putin: Zelensky
“To be honest, I have always believed that NATO is important for Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is important because Ukraine, as a NATO member, will never seek revenge, as it will be part of the alliance and will follow the rules. I am completely confident about that. NATO is defense, not attack. And Ukraine outside of NATO, in my opinion, is far more dangerous for Putin. That’s why I have always believed that the issue is not about NATO expansion or even the European Union. It is something else entirely. It is like having a bad neighbor, a jealous neighbor who envies your success,” said Ukraine’s leader, Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with Le Point.
According to him, Putin “fears that Ukraine will achieve success in every sense of the word” and “will become a de facto part of Europe.” He also emphasized that Russians might follow Ukraine’s example.
