Putin Praises the Conduct of the SCO Summit in China

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which took place in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1, as excellent. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Today, the head of state met with Li Zhanshu, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). During the conversation, the Russian leader requested him to convey his words of gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for the organization of the SCO summit and the warm welcome.

“I once again congratulate China on the excellent conduct of the SCO summit, as well as on the initiatives put forward by the Chinese president. All of them, as I have already mentioned, are large-scale and timely,” noted Putin.

On September 1, Xi Jinping proposed an initiative at the SCO summit to create a fairer and more equal global governance system, as well as to form a community with a shared future for humanity. Subsequently, the Russian president announced that Moscow supports this initiative and is interested in starting a specific discussion of the proposals.
