Netanyahu Criticizes Belgium's Prime Minister for Recognizing Palestine
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a statement labeling Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever as a "weak leader."
"Belgium's Prime Minister De Wever is a weak leader who aims to calm Islamic terrorism by sacrificing Israel. He wants to feed the terrorist crocodile before it swallows Belgium. Israel will not agree and will continue to defend itself," the statement from Netanyahu's office read.
Previously, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxim Prevot announced that Belgium would recognize the state of Palestine at the UN General Assembly. Similar decisions had earlier been made by Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and France.
