International Lawyer of Samvel Karapetyan Comments on Pashinyan's Statement 'The Government is Me'
The democratic approach of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan boils down to the statement 'The government is me.' This was noted by Samvel Karapetyan's international lawyer Robert Amsterdam on his social media page.
As reported, Karapetyan's legal team announced on July 23 that his family had won an urgent arbitration case against the Armenian government. The government responded to the international court's decision, stating that everyone must also adhere to Armenian legislation and international treaties, which outline the recognition and execution procedures for arbitration decisions.
However, on August 28, the Prime Minister declared, 'The government is me,' insisting that the matter had been won by the government and there could be no doubt about it.
'The interference of the Armenian government in church affairs is a key indicator of its growing authoritarianism. The statement 'The government is me' encapsulates all you need to know about this so-called 'democracy' that is often praised by the West,' he wrote.
