Official Suspected of Espionage Had Romantic Ties with an Azerbaijani, He Did Not Act Alone

According to sources from Factor.am, the National Security Service has uncovered an official within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who was in contact with an Azerbaijani and had transmitted sensitive information to him.

Some notable details have emerged; specifically, the official is Ashkhen Arakelyan. She was a key employee in crucial departments and had access to important information. She was involved in a romantic relationship with the Azerbaijani.

The NSS apprehended her over a month ago. We have learned that she was arrested at Zvartnots Airport during a trip to Vienna.

Additionally, during interrogation, Ashkhen Arakelyan stated that she received money from the Azerbaijani side and emphasized that she did not act alone. It remains unclear who assisted her and what positions they hold within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We have also been informed that the NSS has seized computers from several Ministry employees.
