Many Aspects of the 44-Day War Remain Unclear: Tigran Abrahamyan

Many aspects of the 44-day war remain unclear, ranging from the preparation for various operations to different episodes of human tragedy. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the "Honorary Title" faction, on his Facebook page.

“To this day, the government uses the topic of war for political manipulation, for its false cause-and-effect relationships, and to selectively punish individuals. For instance, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Mikayel Arzumanyan, who commanded the battles in the last 11 days of the war, has been in custody for three years, and the end of the trial is still not in sight. Jalal Harutyunyan, who was the commander of the Defense Army both before and during the 33 days of war, is involved in judicial proceedings but has not spent a single day in prison. Kamo Vardanyan, who was appointed as the commander of the Defense Army after Arzumanyan and served until the complete occupation of Artsakh in 2023, is currently an advisor to the Chief of Staff, and that’s all.

I do not intend to pass judgment from a judge's position, let alone wish imprisonment or a death sentence upon anyone. However, the manifestations of injustice, particularly towards military personnel, are doubly concerning. It is not that there are expectations from Pashinyan’s courts or from the 'whimpering' judges he mentions, but it is evident that the government is conducting selective justice, punishing those who need to be judged based on specific situations, while others are either celebrated as heroes or simply silenced.

The most unacceptable thing is that the overwhelming majority of current and former high-ranking military personnel have neither spoken publicly about the key episodes of the military actions nor defended those individuals who, under their commands, went into battle to defend the homeland,” the MP wrote.
