Our Demands Have Been Accepted by Armenia: Azerbaijani Prime Minister
Following a trilateral summit in Washington involving the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States, and Armenia, a joint declaration has been signed, indicating that Azerbaijan's long-advocated peace initiative has gained broad international support and official recognition. This was announced by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
"The joint declaration is not only a document that ends the long-standing armed confrontation between the two countries but also a result of the Azerbaijani people's struggle for historical justice, reflecting our state's political and diplomatic power and international authority," Asadov stated.
According to him, one of the most crucial provisions of the joint declaration pertains to the opening of transportation and communication lines in the region. "After the Patriotic War, President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly and decisively stated that an unobstructed land passage from mainland Azerbaijan to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic must be ensured. Despite all challenges, disagreements, and varying positions, this requirement from the head of state has also been accepted by Armenia," he emphasized.
Asadov noted that the document signed in Washington clearly underscores the importance of ensuring reliable communication between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. "To achieve this goal, a special infrastructure initiative supported by the United States is planned, named the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.' This will create significant changes not only in Azerbaijan but also in the entire economic and geopolitical landscape of the region," Asadov concluded.
