Ukraine Will Not Have to Bear the Shame that the 'Russians' Call Compromise: Zelensky
“Ukraine will never again have to bear the shame that the 'Russians' call compromise,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a message to the Ukrainian people on the occasion of Independence Day.
“We need a just peace. What our future will be, we decide. And the world knows that. And the world respects that. The world respects Ukraine,” the state leader remarked.
According to him, this is exactly the Ukraine he envisioned in the United States just a week ago. “Today, both the U.S. and Europe agree: Ukraine has not yet won, but it will undoubtedly not lose. Ukraine has secured its independence. Ukraine is not a victim, but a fighter. Ukraine does not beg, but offers an alliance and partnership. And this is how Ukraine is recognized. Not as a poor relative, but as a strong ally,” Zelensky stated.
He is confident that Ukraine will achieve stable, reliable, and lasting peace.
