The World's Largest Bridge Has Collapsed: 12 People Dead

A bridge construction site over the Yellow River in northwestern China experienced a cable failure, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals, with four others reported missing, according to Xinhua.

The emergency response operational headquarters confirmed the information regarding the death toll. The incident led to the collapse of a 108-meter-long main beam made of steel.

At the time of the accident, 16 workers were present at the site. Reports indicate that 806 people participated in the rescue operations, utilizing 91 vehicles, 27 boats, one helicopter, and five robots.

It is worth noting that about a month ago, China faced severe weather conditions, with heavy rains causing flooding. Thirty people lost their lives in Beijing, while over 80,000 were evacuated. Flooding in the northern part of the country caused streams to surge from the mountains, while landslides claimed the lives of eight individuals.
