The Russia-Ukraine War Will Continue At Least Until Autumn: Stub

The President of Finland, Alexander Stub, has stated that he sees no signs of the Russian leadership's desire to engage in negotiations for a ceasefire with Ukraine. He also doubts that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet personally with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the near future.

"They want to continue the war at least until autumn in order to expand their territorial gains as much as possible," said Stub. Meanwhile, the president noted that the moment to achieve a ceasefire and long-term peace is still approaching. However, the only person who can bring peace is U.S. President Donald Trump, the politician firmly believes.

Stub hopes that Donald Trump will "lose patience again" with the Russian leadership and impose sanctions. "I hope that this moment is near because it will assist in a peaceful resolution," Mr. Stub said.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced this week that Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with the Ukrainian president. However, according to the minister, the summit can only take place if the parties develop a detailed agenda for the negotiations. Therefore, Lavrov believes it is still early to talk about the meeting.
