Araghchin Travels to Saudi Arabia to Discuss Gaza Crisis

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchin has traveled to Saudi Arabia to participate in an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) dedicated to the Gaza crisis.

Heading a diplomatic delegation, Araghchin is attending the meeting in Jeddah, where OIC foreign ministers are set to discuss the humanitarian disaster in Gaza and coordinate plans to urgently deliver aid to the enclave, which has been under siege by the Israeli regime for years.

The ministers will also address the political and legal aspects of Israel's ongoing occupation of Gaza City. Israeli forces have intensified military operations in Gaza, reportedly killing at least 63 Palestinians today, including children and aid workers.

The regime's efforts to forcibly expel medical personnel from Gaza City have faced widespread condemnation as soldiers seek to establish control over the city and displace nearly one million residents.

Thousands of people have taken to the streets in various cities around the world following a UN report officially declaring famine in northern Gaza, a crisis exacerbated by months of blockade by Israel on humanitarian supplies, including food and water.

According to reports, since the beginning of October 2023, at least 62,622 people have been killed due to Israeli airstrikes, and more than 157,673 have been injured.
