US and India Continue Trade Talks Amid Tensions: Bloomberg

The US and India continue trade negotiations despite rising tensions, reports Bloomberg.

“The talks are ongoing and the relationship has not broken down,” said Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

The minister added that dialogue with Washington continues, despite the tariffs imposed on Indian imports and the threat of sanctions for purchasing Russian oil.

It is noteworthy that the US threatened to impose a 50% tariff on Indian exports starting from early August if India continues to import oil from Russia.
