Trump Expresses Concerns Over Russian Strikes on American Business in Ukraine
U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with the Russian strikes affecting American businesses in Ukraine. Trump has not ruled out new sanctions against Moscow or taking no action at all; that will depend on progress in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. According to Trump, everything will be clear in two weeks.
“At that time, I will make a decision regarding future actions. This could involve imposing significant sanctions or tariffs, or both. Or perhaps we will do nothing and say, ‘this is your war’,” the U.S. President stated.
Trump also voiced his discontent regarding the impact on American businesses operating in Ukraine due to Russian strikes, stressing, “I am dissatisfied with everything concerning this war.” When asked what he would do if the parties do not sit down at the negotiating table, Trump indicated that he would determine who is to blame and whether there are reasons for it.
Following a meeting in Alaska with the Russian President and then at the White House with Ukrainian and European leaders, Trump anticipates that Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky will meet. However, Russia’s Foreign Minister has stated that Putin will only attend a meeting if it has a presidential agenda. From Kyiv, it has also been declared that Zelensky will only meet with Putin after allies finalize security guarantees for Ukraine.
