Zelensky Irritates Trump by Listing Kyiv's Priorities
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky nearly irked U.S. President Donald Trump when he began to detail Kyiv’s priorities for halting the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by the British newspaper The Guardian.
It was noted that the Washington administration's leader was not interested in discussing the Ukrainian stance. According to The Guardian, Trump attempted to rush Zelensky by interrupting him. However, Zelensky ignored the attempts to hasten his speech.
Ultimately, he hastily concluded his report, after which the floor was given to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
On August 18, Trump met with Zelensky and leaders of European countries in Washington. The American leader also called President Putin. According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, both Putin and Trump have expressed support for the continuation of direct consultations between Moscow and Kyiv.
