European Trio's Statements are Merely Psychological Pressure on Iran: Araqchi
Iran has developed collaborative steps with Russia and China in case of the reinstatement of international sanctions. This was announced by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
"I do not rule out that the mechanism for reinstating international sanctions could be activated. For several years, we have been working with Russia and China on this issue and have collectively developed a complex of measures that we will implement in case the mechanism is activated," Araqchi stated.
At the end of July, Germany's Foreign Ministry reported that the "European trio" - Great Britain, France, and Germany - during a meeting in Istanbul with Iranian representatives, proposed to delay the reinstatement of UN Security Council sanctions if Tehran fulfills certain conditions and legal obligations.
Araqchi noted that the statements from the "European trio" are merely psychological pressure on Iran. According to him, the reinstatement of sanctions will not affect Iranian oil exports or the banking sector. At the same time, Araqchi emphasized that such restrictions could have serious consequences for Iran.
"We must try to prevent those consequences. But at the same time, these should not be overestimated," Araqchi added.
