Trump Discusses Zelensky Meeting with Putin
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they began discussions on organizing a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump shared this information on his Truth Social platform.
He noted that he had a very productive meeting with Ukrainian and European leaders, as well as NATO Secretary General, where they discussed security guarantees for Ukraine that should be provided by various European countries in coordination with the U.S.
“Everyone is pleased with the possibility of peace for Russia and Ukraine. After the meetings, I called President Putin and started preparations for a meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky, the location of which is still to be determined,” Trump wrote.
He added that there will be a trilateral meeting involving both presidents and himself following the Putin-Zelensky meeting.
