Former Heads of Two Communities Accused of Deliberately Failing to Submit Declarations
The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case that reveals former heads of the New Artik community in Aragatsotn Province and the Big Parn community in Lori Province failed to submit their declarations within the legally required timeframe. As public officials required to submit asset, income, expense, and interest declarations, they neglected to present these documents to the Anti-Corruption Committee within 30 days following the cessation of their official duties in 2021.
According to the anti-corruption committee, the aforementioned individuals were duly notified of their obligation to submit these declarations, and were informed that failing to comply could lead to administrative proceedings if they did not submit by the 30th day following the deadline. However, they did not provide the declarations nor did they present themselves to the committee during that time.
Subsequently, administrative violation reports were prepared against the former heads of New Artik and Big Parn, resulting in decisions to impose fines of 200,000 Armenian drams each for the infractions. Despite being properly notified about the imposition of the fines, the former heads of the communities again failed to submit their declarations to the competent authority, the Anti-Corruption Committee, within the designated 30-day period. As a result, they have been charged under Article 444, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
The investigations into these criminal proceedings have concluded, and the materials of the cases have been forwarded to the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia with indictment conclusions.
