EU Leaders Plan Phone Call with US President

EU leaders are planning to have a phone conversation with the US President today or later this week, claims the Brussels-based Euractiv portal, citing sources.

“Another virtual meeting between the Europeans and Trump could take place as early as Tuesday or later this week,” notes the publication.

As Euractiv reports, despite the positive outcome of the European leaders' visit to the US, it has not brought clarity on key issues regarding neither the resolution, the security guarantees format for Kyiv, nor the prospects for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

Extraordinary videoconferences will take place on August 19 in Europe between the leaders of the “volunteers coalition” and all EU member states, during which they will develop a common position on resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
