Construction of the Iran-Armenia Electric Transmission Line Nears Completion, Says Khudatyan
The construction of the new Iran-Armenia electric transmission line is in its final stages. This will allow for a doubling and further increase of the volume of electricity exported from Armenia to Iran.
This announcement was made by Davit Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, during a conversation with reporters regarding the current level of cooperation in the energy sector with Iran.
Khudatyan emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership with Tehran in various fields, particularly in infrastructure and road construction.
“As for the cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the energy sector, it is known that progress is being made. However, I can say that the construction of the new Iran-Armenia electric transmission line is already in its final stages, which will enable us to export electricity to Iran in larger volumes. I hope that we can quickly export additional large volumes to Iran,” said Khudatyan, adding that both sides are continuing their efforts to ensure the successful completion of this project.
The minister reminded that electricity is currently being exported from Armenia to Iran, and this process is ongoing almost throughout the entire year. The construction of the new line will allow both sides to double and later further increase the export volumes.
