Zelensky-Trump Meeting May Not Lead to Triangular Summit: White House
The meeting scheduled for today between U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, and European leaders is not necessarily expected to result in a three-way summit with Russia, according to The Washington Post, citing a source from the White House.
“Separately, the United States hopes to hold a three-way meeting this weekend with Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Zelensky,” said the official. However, the source warned that today’s meeting may not lead to such an outcome,” the article states.
The paper emphasizes that the development of security guarantees could take a significant amount of time. The source within the U.S. administration also noted that Vice President J.D. Vance will participate in the meeting between Trump and Zelensky.
