Zelensky Ready for Compromises on the Front Line, Financial Times

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is prepared to engage in compromises that would be acceptable to Ukrainians at the current front lines, but he is not ready to withdraw troops from Donbas, reports the Financial Times, citing its sources.

A senior Ukrainian official close to Zelensky told the publication that during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, his objective would be to discuss “an effective process for peaceful resolution without forcing Ukraine to take impossible steps, such as withdrawing troops from Donetsk and Luhansk.”

“For this reason, Zelensky is ready to pursue a ‘Marseille compromise’ at the current front lines, which Ukrainians can accept,” the publication’s article states.
