Trump Supports Full Russian Control Over Donbass
US President Donald Trump has endorsed Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to establish full Russian control over the entire Donbass area, according to Fox News, citing an anonymous European diplomat.
The diplomat noted that the proposal also includes freezing the front line in all other areas of the contact line. Journalists report that Trump has also ceased immediate ceasefire support, beginning to strive for a comprehensive peace agreement.
This shift in the White House leader's position occurred after a meeting with Putin, who indicated that Moscow is not interested in a temporary ceasefire and insists on a long-term resolution.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Russia had formulated specific conditions for ending the special military operation, including the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics in exchange for freezing the front lines in the regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
Additionally, according to journalists, the list of demands includes the legislative recognition of the status of the Russian language in Ukraine. The Kremlin has not commented on this information.
