Russia Has a Clear Position and Will Present It in Alaska, Lavrov

Russia has a clear and understandable position, which it will present at the high-level meeting to be held in Alaska. This was stated by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“We never predict anything in advance. We know that we have arguments and a clear, understandable position. We will present it,” Lavrov said in response to a journalist's request to assess the potential for success at the upcoming summit.

“Not much has been done already. During the visits of U.S. President's Special Envoy Whitcoff, President Vladimir Putin mentioned this. Whitcoff has been acting on behalf of President Trump. I hope that tomorrow we will continue this useful dialogue,” Lavrov’s words, part of the Russian delegation, are quoted on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website.

U.S. President Donald Trump, prior to the summit, stated that he estimates a 25% chance of failure.

The summit will take place at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage. The central theme of the meeting will be the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Initially, there will be a face-to-face meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, followed by a meeting of delegations with five members from each side, after which the two presidents will present the results of the negotiations at a press conference.
