Clinton Promises to Nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize with One Condition

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has promised to nominate U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he resolves the Ukraine conflict, according to the New York Post.

"If he could end this terrible war without putting Ukraine in a position where they would have to give up their territory, if he could actually stand up to Putin, which we haven’t seen yet, but maybe now is an opportunity, if President Trump were the architect of the peace, I would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize," Clinton said during the Raging Moderates podcast.

Today, Politico reported that Trump enjoys being the 'chief peacemaker' and believes he can broker deals that other presidents have failed to achieve. According to the source, the U.S. president is paying attention to different conflicts partly because he believes that he can use Washington's influence to bring them to an end. This contradicts his presidential campaign, during which he pursued an 'America First' approach.

The publication noted that Trump's attempts to resolve armed conflicts may be explained by his long-standing desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had also nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
