Trump Does Not Seek New Sanctions Against Russia, Says White House
U.S. President Donald Trump does not wish to impose new sanctions against Russia, with his priority being diplomacy, the White House has announced.
It is worth noting that Trump and Putin will meet on August 15 in Anchorage, the largest city in the state of Alaska. The leader of the White House indicated that the goal is to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, this will be a "trial" meeting to determine whether a peace agreement can be reached.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bencetti stated that sanctions against Russia could be intensified if the meeting in Alaska proves unsuccessful.
