“The Kyiv Regime Does Not Think About Peace,” Says Russian Foreign Ministry

The Kyiv regime does not think about peace and views any negotiations as a means to prolong military operations and maintain power. This was stated by Alexey Fadeev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a press conference ahead of the Russia-US summit.

The diplomat drew attention to the statements made by Volodymyr Zelensky after his meeting with the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, Vasyl Maliuk, asserting that he personally approved certain actions against the Russian Federation.

“It is clear that we are talking about attempts to organize new diversions and terrorist acts, including the use of Western weapons. This confirms that the Kyiv regime, as it did not think about peace before, does not think about it now, viewing any negotiations as a means to prolong military operations and maintain their own power,” Fadeev noted.

On August 8, US President Donald Trump announced that he expects to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15. The plans for these negotiations were subsequently confirmed by Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov.
