Sona Mnatsakanian's Father Finds Pashinyan's Comparison to a Bus Passenger Incomprehensible

Pashinyan apologized to me, expressed condolences for my grief, but I absolutely do not understand his approach of comparing it to a bus passenger, said Mnatsakan Mnatsakanian, the father of Sona Mnatsakanian, after another court session regarding the hit-and-run case.

He was commenting on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that a pregnant woman was hit not by him but by the prime minister's motorcade. "Well, that’s how he thinks. I cannot say why he thinks that way. You also understand how it came to be that he thinks that way," he said.

When asked if he blames Nikol Pashinyan, Mnatsakanian replied that it is the court that should decide who is to blame. He insisted that this is a matter of state negligence. "They should also be able to ensure safety for pedestrians. Are pedestrians not citizens of the Republic of Armenia that they should ensure safety? What does it mean to ensure safety?"

Regarding the fact that the driver who hit Sona, Aram Navasardyan, does not accept the charges against him, Mnatsakan Mnatsakanian stated, "It has been proven that he exceeded the speed limit, meaning he did not take measures to prevent the accident; he is definitely to blame. He is not the only one at fault. We have also filed complaints against other individuals. If the road had been closed on time, this incident would not have occurred. They say there are no recordings; they are damaged. Can one be so negligent in every matter?"
