It is Necessary to Increase Pressure on Russia if There is No Progress After the Talks, Merz

Ukraine must be at the negotiation table with Russia and the United States, said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. He noted that Kyiv is prepared to discuss territorial issues, but the starting point must be the front line.

Merz added that if there is no progress in resolving the conflict in Ukraine after the Putin-Trump summit in Alaska, then "it is necessary to increase pressure on Russia."

"The fundamental security interests of Europe and Ukraine must be respected in Alaska. Europe and the United States have reached a consensus on this matter," Merz added.
