Israel Regularly Threatens Us, They Are Attempting to Fragment Our Country: Syrian Foreign Minister

Damascus is facing two main challenges. This was stated by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shabani. "We are facing challenges, the primary of which are the regular threats from Israel and the interference of other states that are trying to fragment our country," said al-Shabani during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart during an official visit to Ankara.

In response to a question from a journalist, al-Shabani stated that Israel is behind the events in Suwaida, attempting to use the Druze to provoke inter-religious conflict in Syria. The Syrian minister added that during negotiations with the Turkish side, various regional issues were discussed, as well as ways to strengthen the political process, prospects for economic cooperation, and the coordination of security and military cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
