Chinese President Invites Trump for Meeting
The President of China, Xi Jinping, has invited U.S. President Donald Trump for a meeting. This was reported by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Basset in an interview with Fox Business.
“The President has not yet agreed,” said the head of the Treasury Department. According to Basset, the date for a possible meeting has not yet been determined.
On July 18, The Times reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and the American leader could meet in China in early September. In early August, Trump announced that he is willing to meet with the Chinese president before the end of the year, but on the condition that a trade deal is reached between the United States and China.
