After Gaining the Zangezur Corridor, Opponents Move to Remove the 102nd Military Base: 'Mother Armenia'

The so-called Western-oriented groups have announced plans to hold a protest against the Russian 102nd military base located in Gyumri. This was reported on the Facebook page of the 'Mother Armenia' movement.

'Under a different government, the existence of such anti-Armenian forces and the Turkish fifth column in our political sphere would be impossible. However, under the current regime, for known reasons, this is not only tolerated but also actively encouraged. After occupying Artsakh, disputing the territory of Syunik, and gaining the Zangezur Corridor, our opponents are moving to the next point—the process of removing the 102nd military base, after which the complete surrender of Armenia to Turkey and Azerbaijan will merely be a technical matter.

'Mother Armenia' firmly condemns the provocative actions against the Russian military base, which is a crucial component of Armenia’s security assurance. It would be tragic for our society to tolerate such steps being taken against it. It is a double tragedy that the memory of a people who have witnessed genocide is being revisited, reminiscent of events that occurred 110 years ago.

The Gyumri Municipality and the relevant law enforcement agencies must legally prevent the occurrence of this hostile action against the Russian military base, which ultimately undermines the interests of the Republic of Armenia. 'Mother Armenia' will protect the interests of the Republic of Armenia with all its capabilities,' the statement reads.
