Zelensky: Putin and Trump's Meeting Could Be Significant for Russia and the U.S. Path
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the upcoming talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled for August 15, cannot yield any decisions without Kyiv's involvement. He added that a trilateral meeting of leaders will inevitably take place, although the date has yet to be finalized.
The state leader emphasized that negotiations at the leaders' level are crucial in any circumstance, and the meeting between Putin and Trump could be significant for the bilateral trajectory of these countries. He expressed his belief and hope that Donald Trump understands this.
“If we want to end the war, let it be so. Please do everything necessary to conclude this war,” the Ukrainian president stated.
Zelensky also pointed out that few realize Ukraine has already been fighting for this independence. “A little more time needs to pass so that no one can break us,” he remarked.
He also stated that Russia is not prepared to end the war.
