It is Possible to Break Free from the Vicious Cycle of Imposed Debts: 'Armenia' Faction
On August 8, 2025, the obligations assumed by Nikol Pashinyan during a trilateral meeting in the USA, as well as the pre-signed agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which representatives of the Pashinyan regime emphasize and promote as unjustifiably significant, have no relation to real peace. Moreover, they contain new existential threats for Armenia and the Armenian people. This was stated by the 'Armenia' faction in a press release.
Specifically, attempts are being made to legitimize Azerbaijan's ethnic cleansing and genocidal policies against the Armenian population of Artsakh, hostage-taking, and fabricated trials, the erasure of the Armenian presence from Artsakh, and the expulsion of the Artsakh issue from the international agenda with the dissolution of the Minsk Group. These actions not only do not remove the over three-decade-long Turkish-Azerbaijani blockade and hostile actions against Armenia but also provide Azerbaijan with a free corridor within Armenia’s sovereign territory, creating additional conditions for the continuation of aggression and limitations on Armenia's sovereignty. The signed documents do not include the criteria for justice in resolving international conflicts or international commitments to ensure and protect human freedoms and fundamental rights. The pre-signed agreement (particularly articles 8-9, article 15) contains formulations that are clearly intended to be used against all Armenians who participated in the liberation struggle of Artsakh, obscuring Azerbaijani crimes and depriving the Armenian side of the opportunity to use international mechanisms to hold those responsible for these crimes accountable. Even the formally declared principles of respect for territorial integrity, mutual will for establishing peace, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs set forth in the signed documents do not indicate any international guarantees. Considering the current situation, they are based solely on Azerbaijan's will. Moreover, the preconditions currently put forth by Azerbaijan (such as the renunciation of the Declaration of Independence, constitutional changes, etc.) clearly indicate its contrary intentions.
Regional real peace and long-term stability based on the free self-determination of nations require a multi-faceted alignment of interests, genuine balance of power, and the presence of international guarantees. It is essential for us to strengthen Armenia's internal and external security systems, establish national solidarity, reinforce national-state institutions, and engage foreign allies. Without addressing the above issues, the presented documents only document the significant harm inflicted on the Armenian side.
Nikol Pashinyan, once again abusing his powers as defined by the Constitution and laws, violating the public-legal responsibility undertaken by the government, is attempting to mislead the Armenian people with a false narrative of peace to secure the reproduction of his regime. Dear compatriots, we reject such behavior, consider the repeated concessions imposed on Armenia unacceptable and condemnable, and reaffirm that it is possible to break free from the vicious cycle of debts imposed on our people, restore our national dignity, and build a strong statehood. All of this can be achieved by excluding the reproduction of the current regime, the author of our national tragedy.
