Tokayev and Pashinyan Discuss Preliminary Signing of Armenia-Azerbaijan Agreement
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a phone conversation with Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Prime Minister presented the outcomes of the negotiations that took place on August 8 in Washington, DC, particularly the preliminary signing of the "Agreement on Peace and Inter-State Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the joint appeal to the OSCE regarding the dismantling of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, and the unblocking of regional communications based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and legality as well as reciprocity. The discussion also encompassed the "Trump Road to International Peace and Prosperity" project.
President Tokayev congratulated the Armenian Prime Minister on the progress made towards establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and expressed his support for the process. The two leaders discussed new investment opportunities emerging in the region and agreed that this would receive a positive response among investors from both countries. Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Tokayev agreed to continue their politically active dialogue.
