Court Recognizes Illegal Arrest of Businessman Samvel Karapetyan

The Armenian Court of Appeals has ruled that the arrest of businessman Samvel Karapetyan was illegal. This was reported by the businessman's attorney, Lianna Gasparyan.

The court confirmed that Karapetyan's arrest on June 18, 2025, was unlawful, leading to his detention for over nine hours. Thus, the Appeals Court identified yet another instance of misconduct in the criminal proceedings against Samvel Karapetyan regarding his unlawful and unjustified arrest.

It is worth noting that Samvel Karapetyan is being accused of publicly calling for the usurpation of power.
