Armenia and Iran's Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Conversation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, has had a phone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Minister Mirzoyan addressed the outcomes of the meetings held in Washington on August 8, including the agreements reached regarding the unblocking and development of regional communications and subsequent work.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that, as has been repeatedly stated by Armenia, and as reflected in the Washington declaration, the operation of infrastructure—particularly that which will be constructed in Armenia in partnership with the United States—will occur within the frameworks of the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of the countries involved. In this regard, Minister Mirzoyan thanked Seyed Abbas Araghchi for his principled assessment of the Washington agreements.
The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the preparation for upcoming consultations and high-level contacts between Armenia and Iran. It should be noted that on August 8, Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration in Washington.
