Zelensky Calls Ilham Aliyev: Details

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. In a detailed conversation, Zelensky shared:

“I congratulated the president and the entire Azerbaijani people on the agreements reached with Armenia with the support of President Trump, aimed at sustainable peace and reliable security in the South Caucasus region. The world has received the tripartite meeting in Washington very positively. We hope that everything will work out.

I informed the president about our communications with EU partners. Everyone is equally committed to achieving a genuine end to the war and effective diplomacy. We discussed cooperation with the United States and European countries, as well as the key principles that can bring the world closer together. I thank our people and statehood for their support. It is important that joint efforts for peace still compel Russia to cease military operations and aggression.

We also discussed our energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. We have achieved significant results. We agreed that we will not stop here and will continue to work towards expanding our capabilities. I informed him about Russian attacks on our energy facilities. Ukraine sees this as a targeted attempt by Russia to blockade the energy routes that ensure energy independence for us and other European countries.
