Ukraine Must Be at the Negotiating Table: NATO Secretary General
Ukraine must have the right to independently determine its future within the framework of a potential agreement to cease hostilities with Russia. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in an interview with ABC News.
“We need Ukraine at the negotiating table. This will relate to territories. It will also concern security guarantees,” he said.
According to the NATO Secretary General, Ukraine should not face limitations on the number of its armed forces. It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump have agreed to hold talks in Alaska on August 15. The main topic will be peace in Ukraine. Western media claim that the proposals being discussed may include territory exchanges and a commitment from Kyiv to refrain from joining NATO.
