Another Red Line Crossed: Lawyer on the Issue Relating to Aghvan Arshakyan

I am in shock over the issue relating to Aghvan Arshakyan since yesterday. This was stated by lawyer Ruben Melikyan on his Facebook page.

According to him, the regime is using Aghvan Arshakyan as a hostage, completely detached from any reality to harm Armenia, the church, and undermine Armenian dignity and identity, within a criminal case against Bishop Bagrat and 17 other defendants, one of whom is Aghvan.

“Another red line has been crossed. The authorities have decided to torment that boy. The regime is losing its human face day by day,” says R. Melikyan.

It should be noted that lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan had reported that both the Court of Appeal and the primary court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan rejected the motions to lift Aghvan Arshakyan’s detention. Aghvan Arshakyan has serious health problems, and his condition is further complicated by his detention.
