Israel Still Plans to Fully Occupy Gaza Strip
Israel still plans to fully occupy the Gaza Strip. The decision has been made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the support of the cabinet. A senior official close to the politician told Ynet that the 'dice has been cast' and Israel is 'moving towards the complete occupation of the Gaza Strip.'
According to him, operations will be carried out even in areas where hostages are being held. The Israeli Defense Forces currently control about 75% of the area. Under the new plan, the Israeli defense forces are expected to take full control of the region.
At the same time, military officials oppose such a decision, as their assessments indicate that it could take years to clear the entire Hamas infrastructure, potentially endangering the lives of hostages.
