Trump's Approval Rating Has Reached Record Low
The approval rating for U.S. President Donald Trump has fallen to a record low of 40%, according to Reuters citing its own statistics.
At the same time, the agency notes that the attitude toward Trump in the country is highly polarized. Eighty-three percent of Republicans and only three percent of Democrats have expressed approval of his actions. Among independent voters, about one-third approved of Trump's policies on the economy (35% in the July 16 survey) and immigration; 43% of respondents approved of his performance, which is a slight increase from the previous survey's 41%.
Trump's ratings started to decline immediately after he took office in January when the Republican signed a series of controversial executive orders. In April, Trump imposed tariffs on products from most of the U.S.'s partner countries.
