The branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported new tremors near the shores of Kamchatka, as reported by "Kommersant." A 6.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded.
Since then, the service has published 17 additional reports of tremors in the region ranging from 4.3 to 6.0 in magnitude.
It is noteworthy that earlier this morning, an 8.7 magnitude earthquake—the strongest since 1952—occurred near the Kamchatka coastline. Buildings were damaged, and tsunami waves flooded coastal areas. Authorities reported that there have been no serious destructions.
